"Camilo walked us through the entire calendar - our car was waiting at the terminal the day after we landed. The only company we'd trust with a move like this."

About Tripler Army Medical Center: The Pacific's Premier Military Hospital

Known across Honolulu as "the big pink building on the hill," Tripler Army Medical Center is unlike any other military installation you may have been assigned to. Understanding what makes it unique matters for your PCS planning.

Tripler AMC is the only federal tertiary care hospital in the Pacific Basin.
Established in 1907 and rebuilt on Moanalua Ridge in 1948, TAMC serves approximately 435,000 beneficiaries across active duty personnel, retirees, families, and veterans from 40+ countries. Its distinctive coral-pink color is visible from virtually anywhere in the Honolulu district. The hospital serves as headquarters for Regional Health Command Pacific.

Tripler receives surgical and medical referrals from military installations across the entire Pacific, including Japan, Korea, Guam, and forward-deployed forces. This scope makes it one of the most professionally rewarding medical assignments in the Army, and one of the most requested. The hospital operates as a Level II Trauma Center verified by the American College of Surgeons, and handles over 2,100 outpatient encounters, 34 surgeries, 6 deliveries, and 142 emergency department visits every single day.

Sand Island Terminal is approximately 6 miles from Tripler.
Of all the Army installations on Oahu, Tripler is one of the closest to the Matson Sand Island pickup terminal. From the Tripler gate, take Moanalua Road / H-201 west toward the harbor. The drive is typically 10 to 15 minutes depending on time of day, making terminal pickup straightforward for medical personnel with demanding schedules.
