Hawaii Car Transport & Auto Shipping.
We are a Matson Route Specialist for Hawaii car transport — the only viable ocean route to the islands. All-inclusive rates from $1,730. We handle overland pickup, Matson booking, USDA coordination, and Hawaii delivery.
What's Included in Your Rate
Our all-inclusive rate covers Matson ocean freight, terminal handling fees at both departure and arrival ports, and basic cargo insurance. If you choose door-to-port service, overland carrier fees are included as well. No surprise charges at pickup.
How the Process Works
Step 1: Choose port-to-port (you drive to the terminal) or door-to-port (we pick up at your address). Step 2: We book your Matson sailing and provide a booking number. Step 3: Your car sails to Honolulu on an enclosed Ro-Ro vessel. Step 4: USDA inspects the vehicle on arrival. Step 5: Car is available for pickup at the Honolulu terminal, usually within 1 day of USDA clearance.
Vehicle Eligibility
Standard passenger cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans are accepted. Contact us if you have a specialty vehicle.
Documentation Required
You'll need a government-issued ID, vehicle title or current registration, and a cleared vehicle (no personal items). Matson requires the fuel tank below ¼ full. We provide a full preparation checklist when you book.
Two Ways to Ship — Pick Your Trade-Off
Every Hawaii auto shipment is one of two services. Port-to-port is cheapest: you drive to the Long Beach or Oakland terminal yourself and pay only the ocean rate. Door-to-port costs more but a licensed, cargo-insured carrier picks up at your address — the only realistic option from the Midwest or East Coast unless you feel like a very long road trip.
Port-to-Port Shipping — from $1,730
You drive to the terminal. The lowest all-inclusive rate to Honolulu.
Door-to-Port Shipping — from $2,530+
We pick up at your address in any of the 48 contiguous states.
Enclosed Ro-Ro Shipping
Every car crosses the Pacific enclosed inside the Matson hull — included, not an upcharge.
Military PCS Shipping
Timeline built backward from your report date. SCRA honored.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the cheapest way to ship a car to Hawaii?
Port-to-port is the cheapest option — you drop the car at Long Beach or Oakland yourself. Starting at $1,730 all-inclusive. If you can't get to the port, door-to-port pickup starts at $2,530+ depending on your state.
How long does auto shipping to Hawaii take?
West Coast states: 14–18 days total. Midwest: 18–22 days. East Coast: 22–28 days. These include overland transit to the port and 12–14 days of ocean crossing.
Do you ship to all Hawaiian islands?
Yes. We ship to Oahu, Maui, Big Island, and Kauai. Oahu is the direct Matson terminal. Neighbor islands add an inter-island barge transfer from Honolulu — coordinated as part of your booking, with one tracking link the whole way.
Is auto transport to Hawaii the same as car shipping?
Yes — “auto transport,” “car transport,” and “car shipping” all describe the same service: moving your vehicle from the mainland to Hawaii. Because there is no road to the islands, every option routes through a Matson ocean sailing from Long Beach or Oakland. We handle the overland leg to the port and the Pacific crossing as one all-inclusive booking.
